Elmer Stricklett (dec. 1964) was a turn of century spitball pitcher - when it was legal - for the Chicago White Sox and Brooklyn Superbas. He didn’t invent the pitch, but he claimed to be the first pitcher to master the spitball and to feature it exclusively. He actually taught the pitch to both Jack Chesbro and Ed Walsh, who both went on to have Hall of Fame careers. Finding single-signed baseballs of turn of the century players is rare, and to find a Rawlings official National League (Giles) baseball authenticated and graded a 6.5 by PSA/DNA is an extreme rarity. This ball is for the discerning collector who appreciates the history of baseball and wants to own the best of the best.
